GF-Base Dolly
The reliable, straightforward base for cranes and jib arms.
The GF-Base Dolly is the rolling base under GFM’s crane and jib systems — GF-8, GF-9, GF-Multi Jib and GF-Mod Jib all build onto its mounting column. Independent steering at each end, wheels for studio floor or track, and a column system that tops out in Euro or Mitchell: one chassis, rigged to the shot.

Steering at both ends
Each end of the chassis steers independently: the dolly holds a straight line, follows a curve or crabs sideways around an obstacle — with the whole rig standing on it. The telescopic push bar mounts at either end, so the grip drives from whichever side the shot leaves free.
One corner, two duties
The corner receivers take the parts that change what the dolly stands on: track wheel adapters put it on 62 cm rail, in Vulkollan® or plastic, and the hand-cranked levelling legs set it plumb on rough ground. An adapter set widens the stance to 100 cm track. On the floor the dolly runs on hard rubber wheels as standard, with pneumatic wheels available.

The mounting column
Cranes and jibs build onto the mounting column: 60 cm and 90 cm columns, a 30 cm extension to stack on, and telescopic supports that brace the column back to the chassis under a working crane. On top sits a Euro adapter or a Mitchell mount — and dedicated adapters put GF-8 and GF-9 onto Euro or Mitchell bases away from the dolly.

Built to be ridden
With the column low and two dolly seats fitted, the Base Dolly works as a rideable camera dolly: operator and assistant sit on the chassis while the grip drives from the push bar. Seats and camera risers mount to the same deck as the column.
