GF-Tube Dolly

Smooth, solid tracking that packs flat for travel. Runs on any tube from 42 to 51 mm.

The plate, its four wheel units and the two end brackets pack flat enough to travel as hand luggage — the rails are whatever tube is already on the set. It runs on any pair between 42 and 51 mm and takes the GFM adapters and GF-Slider accessories you own.

A cheese plate on four wheels

The centre plate carries a 3/8" cheese plate pattern and accepts the existing GFM adapters — Mitchell plates, bowl mounts — so the head goes on the same way it goes on everything else. Four skateboard wheel units carry it, and each one comes off: the plate packs flat, and a damaged wheel is a spare part rather than a service job.

Rails you can buy anywhere

The end bracket clamps take tube diameters from 42 to 51 mm. That covers our own 48.3 mm scaffold tubes and most of the scaffold on a stage, which is the point: the track for a shot can be two lengths of tube that were already in the building.

GF-Slider accessories fit

The end bracket system follows the concept and design philosophy of our GF-Slider end mounts, so the slider accessories are the tube dolly accessories. Levelling legs stand a run up on uneven ground, scaffold and light stand adapters put it on what is already there.

  • Levelling legs — free-standing on ground that is not level
  • Single and double scaffold adapters — 42 to 51 mm
  • Light stand adapters — 28 mm, with or without tilt
  • Monopod adapter — 3/8" thread
  • Counterweight rods — for GFM jib weights or 1" gym weights

Overslung and underslung

The dolly runs either way up. Overslung it sits on the tubes for a normal tracking move; underslung it hangs beneath them, which drops the camera to the floor or lets the tubes be rigged overhead for a move above the action.
